i wasn't looking straight
at the thing
like normal
and the phone rings -
it's party monster
long time!
remember you used to pet me?
flatten my furrowed brow?
yeah we were boss bitches
you, quoting proust in french
me unfurling my tendrils
all over the snack table
i moved to des moines a bit ago
was just scrolling through old texts
and remembering the time
i tore up paper into the bath
with you fully clothed
me worrying you'd bump your head 
on the faucet
anyways -
