I remember in 5th grade  

My teacher yelling at everyone

To stop saying the r word

So everyone started using 

“Special needs” as an insult

And she was exasperated 

That we missed the point 

Because we were all r worded 

Anyway 

I don’t say the r word anymore 

Not because I think it’s that horrible 

But because I would be 

Really embarrassed 

If anyone thought I was part of

An anti-woke Dimes Square
