THERMOMETER

Our rooms right next to each other
Mostly soundproof unless the laughter is loud
My thermostat controls your room too
So you’re always asking me to turn it down
It feels like you have a dial for my heart
Turning it up and down day to day
The wall between us falling down, then back up
Then thinner then thicker
Now I hear you now I don’t
If I place my hand on it I start trembling
Not from the cold
 Though a heating pad helps
