In the mornings I stare at the fog like it will give me the answers
When a headlight breaks through
I attune to my body
Where does it hit me?
Aiming for awe, I settle in nostalgia
The rings that form around the light
Like the moon’s halo
Admiring the phenomenon with my favorite cousin
When every piece of new information was collected like treasure
Before it hijacked my flow state
In the nighttime, I sit back in the bathtub
forgetting the drain has been pulled, I bathe in
candle light
Music plays from my phone
That I’m not sure I picked
But the flames sway in beat
And I convince myself it is exactly right
Aiming for awe, I settle in nostalgia
