Psychic tech strata:
iPad (common) core, mantle, iPad crust,
Mavis Beacon vs voice to text,
cursive callback to grandmother's platitudes
though my mum writes clear as a bell,
even her Father Christmas reads as her as
Christmas, which she is.
iPads concertinaed, divide her room,
her green gown draped atop,
I applaud how she
didn't think of me in the claw machine
as she taught me how to read,
couldn't have cared less
how we are all sorted,
her simple wish for
her hand, reaching back through time,
to deflect the board-rubber
spiralling towards her classmate's head.
That ending took me by surprise
